Introducing Lazarus Guitars from Jack's Guitarcheology!
Lazarus Guitars are upcycled guitars that use yesteryear's best guitar parts to build new unique guitars for today's players. Often in our guitarcheological work, we will find guitar parts that just "have it." We take the best of these parts and rework, refinish and / or redo them into one-of-a-kind projects such as the one you see here.
Each Lazarus project is themed, this one is named after JANUS, the Roman god with one face looking forward and one face looking backward. (See what I did there?)
Here is the nitty gritty:
- Guitar Mill Swamp Ash Body - Reverse S-Style. Ultra-thin polystain gun stock oil relic.
- Unknown maker right hand reverse hockey stick headstock, SCALLOPED all-maple neck. I found this neck in a lot of necks I bought online, not sure who made it, but I kept it held aside for just such a project as this.
- Floyd Rose Special locking tremolo system.
- Gibson USA Humbucker
- CTS volume pot
- Skull knob
- EVH-Style Eyelet "strap locks"
This project was one that I originally did for a teenage customer of mine. He brought me a bunch of parts and said "make me something cool." After a year or two, he traded it in, and I decided to revamp it, swap the neck and do what I would have done if I had full control of the project. The end result is def somthing I would not make for myself, as I am not usually a shredder guy, but there is kind of "drug out of a swamp / played for decades" kind of mojo to this guitar now. Again, Nuno meets Yngwie.
As always, we cleaned it up, polished the finish, flushed the electronics, changed the strings, performed all routine maintenance and set the action low and smooth. All of our packages are packed tight enough to survive the apocalypse and we insure every parcel for the full purchase amount.
Got questions? Shoot me a message, I love nerding out with other gearheads!
