Equitz Guitars Rayburn Electric Guitar w/ Deluxe GB (2023 - Faded Pomodoro)
We are proud to be carrying Equitz Guitars!
Equitz Guitars are built right here in the hills of Tennessee, by the wonderfully talented Kevin Equitz (and his lovely wife Heather). I recently stumbled upon Kevin's work though a podcaster that I like a lot from the PNW (Shout out Blake at Tone Mob podcast); but I asked him in an Instagram reel what guitar he was playing, and he was like "They are in your back yard, dude."
I looked Kevin up and found out they are just 45 mins away in Spring Hill, and I immediately knew I had to get Equitz Guitars in my store. Luckily, they play and sound even better than they look (which is high praise because they look friggin' awesome). This is a super versatile guitar; that Kent Armstrong P-90 covers a lot of ground. I tsuspect this guitar would really shine in the studio, it is a really clean tracking guitar.
The color is one Kevin is calling "Faded Pomodoro." It is like a mix between Fiesta Red and Dakota Red. Darker like Dakota, but faded out more like Fiesta. It has a really unique shade of red that is sort of hard to accurate represent in pictures. The shade is a little darker in person than it is in the pictures (mine or others online).
The neck on this one feels incredible. Slightly chunkier C shape profile. Maple on maple with white binding. The headstock and stinger are both painted white to match the pickguard; which to me gives this guitar a super mid-century modern feel. Each Equitz Guitar is individually curated, so every one is a little bit different. It gives his guitars a truly one-of-a-kind "objective of a side quest in a video game" quality.
Here is some info from Kevin:

My designs are intended to feel familiar but still new; I’m trying to maintain a healthy balance of classic and modern themes in each one.
All of my guitars are intended to be simple and approachable - trying to hit that mix of looking good, sounding good, and feeling good.

This guitar has inspired / reminded almost everyone I showed it to of something different. It also seems to sound differently based on who is playing, it is truly a chameleon of a guitar. Versatile in every sense of the word.
There is a pretty good demo of this guitar on Equitz's Facebook page. It comes with a really rad padded gig bag, and I pack all my guitars with full insurance.
This guitar is being consigned by the manufaturer. Like all my consignments, this instrument is being sold "as described" regardless of condition. (See my shop policies for more information)
