Appalachian Dulcimer - Tennessee Made by Hobbyist Luthier (1970s - Natural)
Here for sale is a handmade Appalachian dulcimer.
As you might notice, my store is called "Jack's Guitarcheology" and not "Jack's Dulcimercheology," mainly because it doesn't make any sense, but also because I am WAY out of my wheel house on this one. I haven't had a dulcimer lesson since 4th grade. (I was more of a band kid, French Horn to be exact.)
I recently stumbled across a couple and rescued them from an antiques mall near Knoxville. This one seems to be locally made and includes 4 vintage Grover tuners. This one was astoundingly well built. Excellent craftsmanship. Plays and sounds great -- plus the woods used are killer.
We restrung it and cleaned it up. It sounds great.
Got questions? Shoot me a message, I love nerding out with other gearheads!
