Tempo / Matsumoku Hollowbody Electric Guitar w/ Pro Refret (1960s - Redburst)
Model: Tempo Hollowbody
Finish: Redburst
Set-up & Playability: Plays great with low action - brand new frets!
Case: None
Notes: Here for sale is a project that has been a long time running. I bought it at the Amigo Show a couple years back - it is a Matsumoku Tempo Hollowbody from Japan in the late 1960s.
It has been refretted by a local luthier I know who graduated from Musician's Institute here in Nashville. I have been having him do some contract work for me. The fretwork is really clean. The bridge pickup is missing a chunk of plastic, but it still functions perfectly and sounds pretty good. The pickups are dummy humbuckers (single coils in HB sized housing), but they sound really vintagey and cool. Oh yeah, and this guitar plays great. Like really great. Since it was refretted, it really feels like a newer guitar than it is.
As always, we cleaned it up, polished the finish, flushed the electronics, changed the strings, performed all routine maintenance and set the action low and smooth. All of our packages are packed tight enough to survive the apocalypse and we insure every parcel for the full purchase amount.
Got questions? Shoot me a message, I love nerding out with other gearheads!
