Philly Style: S-Style Partscaster Electric Guitar (2010s - Sunburst)
Reverse head, light as a feather!
If you don't follow my Instagram, you don't know, but I really like to take weird kids under my wing and show them how to work with their hands in hopes of proliferating the art of luthiery.
This one comes from one of my new apprentices, Jude. He has been working with me fixing up guitars for the last year or so...and I must say, he is getting to be quite the competent guitar tech. This thing plays and feels great, made from parts from the Jack's Guitarcheology parts stashe®.
Usually I put the tech’s name in the title of the item, i.e. “JACK’d” “JAKE’d” but “JUDE’d” didn’t really work and his middle name is Philibert, so we are calling these “Philly Style”
Jude put this together (with my help) from our spare parts pile. Here is what I know about it:
-
Paulownia Body
- AllParts Economy Loaded guard
- Reversed Headstock Sawtooth Neck
- 1980s - 1990s MIK Squier / Fender Tremolo
- AllParts 10mm Tuners
This thing is quite the player now! As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action low and smooth.I pack my guitars up tight and insure every package for the full purchase amount.
Got questions? Shoot me a message, I love nerding out with other gearheads!
