It's a bird....it's a plane...wait, no it is not.
Here for sale is a really, REALLY rare Gibson acoustic from the 1980s that is being consigned by a good friend, customer, and Gibson employee. He is, like I said, a Gibson employee, and he is a pretty competent tech to say the least; so his guitars play pretty well. Like all my consignments, this one is being sold "as described" regardless of condition.
Here are some finer points of the build:
- 1985 Gibson Hummingbird - "Birdless" with no pickguard from factory.
- Honeyburst Nitro
- All Mahogany construction with a rosewood board.
- Surprisingly / uncharacteristic mid to high heavy EQ range - not as dark as most birds.
- Bridge has been shaved down, so the action is exceptionally low. Guitar plays amazingly.
As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action low and smooth. Comes with the vintage correct hardshell, and I pack my guitars up tight and insure every package for the full purchase amount.
